The Social Group.
It’s who we are.
Everything we do at The Accord School grew out of social groups. Our staff, led by founder Katy Boucher, has been creating and teaching social education groups on the South Shore for over seventeen years.
We believe that the best kind of social education is meaningful. We offer our students experiences that are grounded in real life, groups that are matched with like-minded peers, and opportunities that often lead to actual connection and friendship.
To our students, our social programs feel more like a youth group or activity as opposed to just another therapy (Where else does your social group prioritize hopping on the school van for a Dairy Queen run, enjoying an annual “Fakesgiving” dinner, or planning an actual school dance?) Like anything real, our approach may feel a little messy at times, swapping a tidy clinical mindset for an educational experience that comes with a feeling of true belonging.
Every week in group, students will touch on a social theme that is tailored to their age group and specific needs of participants.
Please schedule an intake meeting if you are new to the Accord Center.
We look forward to meeting you!
